My Stang
A 1992 Mustang LX Hatchback currently with 52k miles

This car is literally in perfect condition. It still has the original paint. The only problem I have with it is the 5.0 emblem on the dash board, which is super glued in place. If I could get it off without ruining the dash board I would. The car has been run at the strip only once since the new heads, cam, and a still unported intake. While I wasn't happy with the ET at 13.33, the traps show a great deal more potential at 109.78. I fully expect, at this point to reach my first goal of 11 sec ETs at around 115mph on the N/A 302.

Update 11 OCT 02: After several runs later during the summer in Cincinatti, my trap speeds decreased, which I hope and can only attribute to weather conditions. These runs were made in late June '02. The best ET run was a 12.925@106.47 on a 1.916 60'. The best trap speed in these couple of days was a 106.8. In early OCT 02 I swapped the 3.55 gears out for 4.10s, and the stock Cobra lower out for the ported one. I suspect that this will pick up trap speed substantially since I was only gaining 20 mph on the latter 1/8 of the track. Most other FTI/AFRed comboes gain ~23mph. I think the Cobra intake is killing top end. Also, the 3.55s were crossing the traps at just less than 5000 rpm. The 4.10s should put that number over 6000, which will be perfect. I ran into a little trouble installing the new intake, but hope to have it worked out over thanksgiving break. It's nothing serious, just need a new intake gasket so coolant doesn't leak.

After clearing up the intake gasket problem, the car is running great again, and I must say, much stronger than ever. When I was able to push the car on the roads, I couldn't get traction in the first three gears, a problem I've never experienced before after the first gear. By the time I go back home for x-mas, I'll have a nice set of slicks, drag wheels, new Long tubes, and Lower control arms ready and waiting for me to install. I'll tray to snap some newer, clearer pictures than the ones on the page now. I can't wait to get this thing back out to the track, but I'll have to wait until they reopen after winter ends. I expect to push this thing deep into the 11s, now, and shatter my original goals. With some Nitrous in the near future, I could be going 10s shortly afterwards.
